Accompanied Duets (SS/SA)

Treble Duets

This collection consists of Fanny Hensel’s complete accompanied duets for two treble voices. Fanny Hensel wrote these pieces between 1829 and 1840 on texts by poets ranging from 13th century noble Minnesänger Otto IV to the esteemed Goethe to Fanny’s close friend Johann Gustav Droysen. While some pieces are designated for two sopranos and others for one soprano and one alto, most of the works require low notes from the second voice, and so all of these works are probably best described as being for one soprano and one alto. Thank you to Susanne Wosnitzka who helped decipher the text and proofread the final editions.
