Annus Mirabilis 1846

A Miraculous Year

1846 was Fanny Hensel’s annus mirabilis, the most prolific year of this prolific composer, during which she wrote much of her finest music. In this last full year of her life, she completed 50 works and published her first two opuses—six lieder and four solo piano pieces.

Of the 50 works Hensel composed in 1846, the seventeen for solo piano are presented below, seven of which are available as free PDFs for the first time with this release. Additionally, with this release we celebrate a HenselPushers milestone: doubling the number of Hensel’s solo piano works whose scores are freely available online (from 22 to 45)!
