Piano Four Hands

Piano Duets

This collection includes all of Hensel’s four-hands piano duets, a popular format in the days before recorded music. The first piece in the collection—a waltz in the popular style of the day—dates from relatively early in Fanny’s compositional career. The three other pieces were written more than 20 years later, and comprise a well-rounded set—the first piece is lyrical, the second turbulent and intense, and the third a lilting song with a barcarolle flavor.

With the publication of this collection, all of Hensel’s surviving, completed instrumental ensemble works are now available as free PDFs!
