A Cappella Duets (SS/SA)

Sister Songs

This is HenselPushers’ first collection of Fanny Mendelssohn Hensel’s songs for voice. These seven short pieces are written for two sopranos a cappella, though several require low notes from the second voice, and are probably better described as being for a soprano and an alto. Fanny Hensel wrote these pieces between 1835 and 1841 on texts by some of her favorite poets, including Heine, Goethe, and Platen. Fanny sang many of these songs with her younger sister, Rebecca. This collection was created in collaboration with Chloe Abeyta, and the texts were proofread by Susanne Wosnitzka. Thank you both!
