Notturno Napolitano in b minor
This piece was likely composed in 1840—after (or possibly during) Fanny Hensel’s yearlong trip to Italy. This work was was not included in Renate Hellwig-Unruh’s Fanny Hensel Thematisches Verzeichnis, the definitive catalog of Hensel’s compositions and the source of the “H—” reference numbers. The Notturno Napolitano has the same beginning as “June” from Hensel’s Das Jahr.
