Villa Medicis in A-flat Major

One of three works inspired by Fanny Hensel’s favorite sites in the Eternal City, Villa Medicis—named after the home of the French Academy in Rome—was written in 1840 during her family’s yearlong trip through Italy in 1839-1840.
