Later programmed as the third in her pivotal Ten Piano Pieces 1836-1837, Fanny Hensel composed this piece in 1836. It was one of two pieces she shared with Karl Klingemann, a friend and member of the Mendelssohn family’s artistic circle who encouraged her to compose.
