Klavierstück. Allegro molto vivace in A-flat Major
This piece was composed sometime between 1840 and 1843—after (or possibly during) Fanny Hensel’s yearlong trip to Italy. The original manuscript has been lost, but she included the piece in an album of 12 solo piano works that she had copied for her brother Felix Mendelssohn. This high-energy piece features repeated short broken chord motifs and hand crossings throughout.
